It isn't the air that's the problem in BR.....it's the shitty water.

It's not local talking heads dumbass... just being broadcasted here and may be different announcers for ESPN radio in other areas.

I don’t think the SEC recognizes a “Regular Season” Champ? Only the SECT Champ right?

I think the regular season champion is just an honorary title. According to the SEC website:

quote:

The tournament is a 16-team, single elimination format, beginning on Tuesday and concluding with the championship game on Sunday. The 16 tournament teams shall be determined based on the highest percentage of wins during regular-season conference competition. The winner of the tournament receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.

I thought it was an SEC champion and a tournament champion but it seems that the SEC champion is the one that wins the tournament and the regular season determines seeding.

The SEC website list of champions only shows the tournament winner. It isn't designated as tournament winner but conference champions. In 2018 Ole Miss won the tournament and Florida won the regular season. Only Ole Miss is listed as the conference baseball champion. As I said, this surprised me as well but I went digging and from everything official I have read, the regular season champion is honorary only.

Thanks and it just wasn't clear when listening to WHOMEVER it was on ESPN radio. I like downvotes when you ask a legit question.

Where did you find that? I've been all over that website.

I went to baseball and then champions.

If you google “sec baseball champions,” it’s the first link that pops up. Not sure where to get to it from the site but that’s how I found it. Like basketball, the SEC has always recognized a regular season champ and a tournament champ. The hand out a trophy for both too. The regular season trophy looks like the other sports’ championship trophies. The tournament champ trophy says “tournament champion” on it

IMO, regular season > tournament champ for sports like baseball and basketball where a sufficient number of games are played.
