I used to think LSU had good baseball fans. I’m going to have to rethink that. If they don’t claim A&M as rivals they are in denial.

Not really, LSU was pretty mediocre in football. A&M can only beat LSU in do2n years. On the whole, there is no one in the entirety of college football Fandom that would rather be A&M supporters over LSU. Yall are a historical laughingstock.

Didn’t seem like a meaningful game to me on the bigger picture.
A&M wins: probably still has to win the tournament or at least the final game to reach a regional. LSU’s national seed is still preserved.
LSU wins: 14th seed A&M goes home. LSU stays alive for a tourney title guess, but otherwise it doesn’t “help” them.
Conference tournaments, both in basketball and baseball, seem to have little outcome on the national post-season tournaments.

That's like saying a regional loss is meaningless because you would have still had to win the super to advance to Omaha.
