But they did arrest him, and they did book him under multiple charges
The fact that he was a celebrity is the only reason he got set free
Had it been you or I those charges would not have been dropped
And good for him for being a very good golfer, and the incident has probably definitely changed him into a better person

When I was in college at Texas, I had a red Camero for awhile. I used to laugh and call the color “stop me red.” Anyway, one day in Austin, a cop stopped me and said I must have “rolled through a stop sign” on Red River street, hence the stop. That cop hassled me for about 45 minutes, trying to find something to ticket me for.
I had my fishing gear in the back of my Camero that day. The cop started going through my fishing gear, then picked up my Rapala fishing filet knife and pulled it out of its leather sheath. “This blade is too long!” the cop then told me. “The City of Austin Police Department will be confiscating this knife! If that knife would have been one inch closer to you in the driver’s seat, I would be taking you downtown right now!”
I told the cop that I had bought the knife in the fishing section at K Mart. The cop did not want to hear any college boy logic, but he liked the knife so finally let me go.
So yeah, if it would have been a young me in a red Camero instead of Scottie Scheffler, I likely would not have gotten out of jail as fast as Scottie. Just because Scottie was arrested though does not mean he should have been. Scottie’s cop was trying to be Dirty Harry that day…
