Both are excellent coaches. It's hard to say one is superior since they are tied in heads up play. Both have impressive records and both have won at other schools.

As much of a "fricking idiot" as anyone that would shell out 4 mill a year plus for a perfect season then a losing post-season record including getting the shite kicked out of them by some fricking mormons?

Nice. I've always wondered how the frick our "sling blade" coach won a NC. I hope Les is dumb as frick this year too.

god it's funny how people's opinions of coaches change so frequently I'll go ahead and play devil's advocate for a second just to illustrate my point. I remember by the end of the season, after the loss everyone was calling for miles head, talking about how dumb he was; but alas after the peach bowl arse whoopin it's all good then. Then you have the fricking retarted gumps who swore saban was jesus or something but then he gets his arse handed to him by mormons and the gumps shut up (a little...as much as their inbred mouths allow). Then you have the most classic those impatient, obnoxious florida fans who went as far as to create a fireurbanmeyer.com some time in recent history but them he brings them ANOTHER title and them along with everyone else on this board can't fit enough of meyer's cock in their mouths...JUST SAYING

How the frick does this get past the first post? Miles isn't even the best coach on his staff.

imagine that....bama fans refusing to give Miles ANY credit. Why are they so scared to admit Miles is a good coach? Will it tarnish the luster of their current demi-god? So sad...so typical

I'm a bit surprised this discussion has gotten this far, except I guess this IS an LSU board...

Miles has done a nice job at LSU, but he was taking over a program that was in pretty good shape from Satan, having just won a recent NC.

Meyer came into a Florida program that was rapidly declining under Zook since Spurrier's departure. His turnaround (including 2 NCs) is more impressive.

I'm pretty sure most non-LSU fans would agree with this, but I don't necessarily expect that consensus on this board.

I agree with the first statement, but Meyer walked into a equally talented (albeit under-acheiving) team. Zook had a LOT of NFL draft picks on his team.

now over on the Rant, LSU fans had a comparison between the two during the middle of this season, before our titles.

Can anyone outside of an LSU fan justify that Miles is better than Meyer?

Meyer,
Richt,
Nutt,
Petrino,
Saban,
and Johnson

are all better coaches than Les Miles.

laugh away.
Be glad you have superior talent.
Be prepared to lose to Florida every year.

So I guess the answer to the original post, at least through 6 pages, is no.

Indeed. So either we are all stupid and the LSU fans know something we don't, or Coach Urban Meyer is indeed better than Les Miles.

You do realize that getting that superior talent is part of a coach's job don't you? I guess Les shouldn't get any credit for that either. BTW, if our only loss in to UF every year will be in Atlanta and fighting for NCs while you're still staring at your '03 West banner.

isn't superior talent a result of good recruiting i.e. a good coach? I'm thankful my coach can recruit which I can't say for your coach. as far as losing to florida every year, I'd say Miles' 2-2 record vs Urban says differently.
