I say Arky takes it on the road. I think they are playing the best ball in the league right now.

I agree, Arkansas for the win. Georgia doesn't seem to have the pitching and Pig is pretty good this year. Lot of great baseball being played in the SEC. I'll be watching this series as much as possible since Texas still has to go to Fayettenam.
I'd rather Georgia sweep or take 2 of 3. Wouldn't that be a peach?

The Top Ten in most polls is loaded with SEC teams. I can see the league getting up to six host spots for the tournament.

Even if UGA takes the series, it has no bearing on what happens in the Arkansas Texas series

UGA 2-1
Although I'd be happy to get out of Athens with a series win.
We're way overdue for a hitting slump and our Saturday pitcher is struggling.

it'd sure be nice to have phelps, maybe our best returning player entering the seeason, back from injury. I could see 2-1 either way. At thsi point in the year we know the basics about us:
-our starting pitching is a mess, although improves each week. We could give up 5 in the first inning and it'd surprise no one. Relief pitching seems to be fiarly solid.
-we can hit the shite out of the ball BUT, as is the case at most levels, elite pitching will snuff that out. Texas had some big time major league dudes that got to us last weekend.
I think playing at home will certianly help. I'll take the easy way out and say 2-1 dawgs

I think George surprises and wins the series because of their shitty fake field turf.

Usually it’s the team that scores more runs per game I think

UGA needs improvement in their pitching but let's not get carried away with Arky scoring half a hundred on Mizzou pitching last weekend.
To give some perspective here, Mizzou split against Evansville (Missouri Valley Conference, currently 10-18 this season) and Binghamton (America East, currently 14-14 this season). Mizzou isn't good, and beating the frick out of them isn't a measuring stick on how well a team is playing.

Georgia plays really well at home. Georgia takes this series. We're due for a clunker.
Edit- I meant to say at home.

We know beating mizzou isn’t a measuring stick but even still, Arkansas just smoked them more than any other team has. I have UGA taking the series this weekend though at home. I like us to win Friday with root. But not sure about Saturday and Sunday. If Gaeckle can get out of his head, I see us taking the series. Even if one of our batters slump, we have some that are on fire right now. I think we have the best leadoff batter in the nation…

Half the SEC teams have field turf, why everyone picking on us?

For the Arkansas offense, it has not just been last weekend.
The Hogs have won by mercy rule 12 times this season.
They have scored 7+ runs in 25 games this season.
In SEC games, Arkansas has scored 6+ runs in every game

No, but scoring 87 runs combined (9.66 runs per) @ #7 Ole Miss, @ #14 Vandy, and at home against South Carolina is a pretty good measuring stick.

Swept #14 at the time on the road and run ruled all 3 games against Mizz…even if it is Mizz, it’s still SEC competition and pretty impressive. Think it comes down to the rubber match and Arky pulls it out 2-1. Texas at home and LSU in BR are going to be tough…Arky will probably lose at least one if not both of those series

To answer this question...I am not sure. It should be a good series either way. Who knows, maybe it turns out like their (UGA's) trip to Austin last weekend and Arkansas gets swept.
Arkansas is supposed to get a key pitcher back this weekend in Gage Wood. Will be interesting to see how much he is involved in the series. He has 13 K's in only 7 IP this season. He is a big strikeout guy. 111 K's in 77 IP in his career. So that could be something to watch.
Root and Beidelschies have been pretty consistent this season on Friday and Sunday. Both with ERA's below 4 and both with 17 or less earned runs through this point in the season. Beidelschies is more of a pitch to contact pitcher and has given up 7 homers this year. Root is craftier and has held opponenets to just a .209 BA and has 60 K's in 44 IP.
The wildcard of the starters is Gaeckle. When he is on, he is great. Against Ole Miss he went 4 innings with 8 K's, 1 hit, and 2 earned runs on 79 pitches. When he is off like against Charlotte, he can give up 9 runs in 3 IP.
The real strength of the staff is middle and end relief. Coil (0.60 ERA), Jimenez (1.42 ERA), Carter (2.60 ERA), Wiggins (2.70 ERA), Bybee (3.04 ERA) will need to pitch as normal this weekend. The staff overall does not issue many walks, only 92 BB's as an entire staff this season. One thing I see about UGA, is their staff has issued 162 BB's and 41 HBP this season, which equates to over 200 free passes in 1,100 at bats. That is a pretty high percentage.

Isn’t coil still out with injury?

Yes, until May. Not sure why I included him. Or at least, DVH hopes to have him back in May.
