PSA to all Mississippi State fans

Read this carefully…
Mississippi state is, across the board in every major men’s sport, BELOW mediocre.
In what world is dead last, next to dead last and below average “mediocre”?
Mediocre would be wishy-washy, consistently, “hey we didn’t win, but at least we weren’t team “X” and get humiliated like team “X”. We lost some, but we also won some, hey, not great, but let’s regroup but we are in position to make a run next year.”
That is not Mississippi State. We ARE team “X” in this scenario.
Football: worst in conference
Baseball: next to last currently
Basketball: losing conference record and an embarrassing 0-3 three-year ncaa tournament record (the highlight over these three abysmal years)
It’s time to oust those that have navigated this steep decline. Keenum (president), your leadership has tanked our academic and now athletic brands from mediocre at-best to completely laughable (currently). Selmon (AD), diversity hire with ZERO university ties, hire made in-haste that has resulted in disaster across the board.
All-time low. Burn it down.

They’ll be fine.
I’ve said it before though, even though it’s the pastime and what they are best at, they spend WAY too much money on baseball.

I’ve been through the last 2 years of Jackie and the first 2 years of Croom as a student. That felt like a beautiful spring day compared to this. It’s pointless when you know your leadership is completely helpless, hopeless, and incompetent.

I agree with this. I think you should close the campus and turn it into a commune for the ugly people of Mississippi. I’ve been saying this for years.

They just recently won a Natty in Baseball. They will be fine. It's just a damn hard league. Not every team is going to be the Alabama of football in every sport in the SEC.

So we are a more accomplished athletic program across the board than Ole Miss, but sure whatever you say..

Ole Miss 2
But one of State's was in the era where SEC champion got a bye to the Sweet 16. So they have both earned 2 Sweet 16s. State's came in 1995 and 1996. Ole Miss' came in 2001 and 2025.
OP is right. There are some serious issues at State right now, across the board.
