Are they going to drop overall next year similar to LA?

LINK

Seems like ability to recruit is defined when in-state is slim pickings.

Was supposed to drop this year but they still ended up with 3 5-star players (1 courtesy of Katrina).

Judging by the fact the state of Alabama has 9 Rivals 250 guys on the list for 2010 I think it it could end up being another hyperrated year for State of Alabama talent.

I've brought this upp before with the facts. Really, really interesting data...

Most hilarious was the fact from 2002-2007 the State of Alabama had 3 5-star players total. In the past 2 classes (2008, 2009) the state of Alabama has had 6 5-star players...

ohhh I know, I've seen that myself. for anyone that says that rivals doesn't give the University of Alabama an advantage when it comes to rankings of recruits, is a complete IDIOT.

It certainly appears that Alabama recruits have been evaluated more favorably. That could be attributed to the "Saban Factor." However, Having overrated recruits really isn't an "advantage." In fact, it is more of a liability down the road.

But they've had similar ratings on every recruiting site. Are they all biased. Look at the Athlon recruiting list and Alabama has had 3 in the top 30 the last 2 years.

2008 Class

2009 Class

You should check and see if the same is true of other recruiting services before making a dopey statement like that.

Unless you are being sarcastic, in which case read my post as the same.

Seriously, anybody check to see if other services have similarly rated Alabama talent over the last few years?

Scout has rated Alabama with five 5 star recruits in the last 2 years. Are they biased too?

I've already been over this before and won't get into it again but my main point on this is if you take state of Alabama overall ranks from scout and transplant them over to rivals you would of had only 1 5-star in each of 2008 and 2009.

And I know it's early. But I haven't heard any positive things on Burton Scott or Tyler Love since they've been at Bama. How Scott couldn't even get on the field this year at WR with it being a very weak position overalll outside of jones. How Love is little to no threat to start next year on a depleted OL. Not looking good for these supposed 5-stars so far.

scout gives out a lot more 5-stars.
Take scout's overall rankings of those guys and transplant into rivals and they you would only have 2 total 5-stars the past 2 classes.

The fact is that the state of Alabama doesn't have near the talent that Louisiana has. And Saban now has a problem. In Louisiana he had no competition for that talent. And until lately Saban had no competition for the limited talent in Alabama because Tubby didn't care........he recruited Georgia and Florida.

Now at both Auburn and Tennessee Saban is going to have his hands full fighting, in the state of Alabama, the good recruiters they hired. It should be interesting to watch.

Scout gives out a lot more 5-stars than rivals. His argument is on scout they only had 1 less 5-star the past 2 years overall. I'm saying if you take their overall rank on scout transplant that to rivals on rivals they would only have 2 5-stars total instead of 5 (on scout) or 6 (on rivals).

Bias aside, few can accurately tell a 4 star from a 3 star or a 5 star from a 4 star but Alabama clearly had some legit talent lasy year. Every so often an unusual load of talent come through the pipeline in most states and last year was that year for Alabama in my opinion.
