The 36 year old first time skipper has been saddled with quite a bit of expectation.

Can the young man handle it or will there be growing pains?

How can anyone have an opinion on him? He’s totally unproven and is a complete unknown.

he has a loaded roster, just don't screw it up
it's a lot harder to be the head coach then the cool assistant

my biggest concern would be pitching coach as that's not his expertise
someone like Prager can probably call his own game and be fine
they should be able to hit their way out of most games

I think this is a fair point. I think Earley did a good job making the Jason Kelly hire. Experience as an SEC pitching coach and as a head coach.

He will probably make a fine HC, but that's still to be determined. Every head coach had a first year, some more successful than others. I think with a pretty loaded roster Early's first year will be better than most. Most first timers inherit a team from a coach who got fired for a reason...as in riding the struggle bus with a depleted roster.

Similar to Lil' Lincoln taking the keys from Stoops at BlowU, I think Schloss left Early some pieces to work with.
