...makes 4 million dollars a year. being successful in recruiting at Alabama under Saban does not translate into success somewhere else.
The players coming to the University are coming to play for Saban and Alabama. No recruit is making their decision based on LT being the linebackers coach.

Look how many assistants Pete has lost in the last few years. Southern Cal's recruiting has really fallen apart.

Alabama is one of the few programs that is synonomous with greatness in college football throughout history. It's not a tough sell. Norman Oklahoma is not paradise either but they get great recruits for the same reason. If you ever go there it is not a place that will wow you but the tradition and history of success will.

The beaches and girls don't hurt but USC's history of winning and putting tons of guys in NFL has more to do with it I would think.

Like most head coaches, they close the deals set in place by the rest of the recruiting staff. Might affect the early part of the "process."
