Riley Leonard looking just like Haynes King...

Notre Dame studied the success King had running the ball against Georgia, and Denbrock knew how to apply that knowledge for the Irish to find similar success with key QB runs.

“I thought they (Tech) did a really nice job of maybe even kind of revealing a blueprint, even though it’s not exactly the same blueprint that we use,” Denbrock said, “to give you an idea of maybe how you could not only stay in the game, but win the game.”

Ohio State will concede the QB if they get to hit him as much as they did that drive.

Looked like Bret Favre getting up in the red area.

Werod because I don't remember the QB runs hitting us too much until 4th Q when we had already screwed the pooch.

Definitely similar style QBs. Said it in other thread, but would be fine with Gunner being in same vein as those two. Both are gamers and then some.

I will admit that Buster Faulkner has shown the willingness to run a quarterback into the ground. Haynes King was broke down for about 2 months this season.

He also reminds a lot of Monken and that is what we are after

They shocked teams they wouldn't have in the past with that offense. It pains me to say it but they had a good team this year. We could lost that game. Faulkner would be a upgrade over Bobo imo. We need a younger OC with fresh new ideas. We was way to predictable on offense.

Tonight showed that you run your QB into the ground between the tackles … his throwing is off when you need it in the second half.

Monken is 8 years older than Bobo but I’m sure you’d be pretty excited if he came back.

No I wouldn't because he ain't coming back. Secondly, Bobo is not on the same level as Monken. Bobo had one record year with Murray. What else after? He sucked at Colorado and Auburn.

Did you track Monken’s career?

Yah, that year was 2012. Other than that, Bobo has not been very good. I remember after 2009 and 2010 people were screaming for Bobo's head. That 2012 UGA team had Murray, Gurley, Marshall, and Malcom Mitchell. Bobo isn't terrible but he's just not an elite OC.

I haven't seen Coach Monken today or spoken with him, but he's on the verge of becoming a head coach in the NFL in the next few years if not this year. And even if he wasn't, why would he take the same job title in college, and spend half his life on the road recruiting and begging teenagers to let him coach them. That's not even including all of the NIL madness.

In closing, whenever someone on here suggests Monken comes back, they might as well belive in the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy at that point

Monken has been a HC once at Southern Miss for 3 years and he was 13-25. He bounced around college and pro ball a good bit and never really was elite til he went to UGA. Perhaps it was because he had one of the best TEs to ever play along with a great OL and QB and of course a defense that kept them in almost every game. Y’all act like Monken was some sort of savant we stole from the NFL. The dude has bounced all around. I think he has a good offensive mind, but I also think he was dealt a better hand than Bobo.

Just think how much the opinions on Bobo would be different if Aaron Murray and Bobo would’ve had a Kirby Smart defense and recruiting prowess in 2012 and 2013.

One underrated area where Monken excelled was evaluation of WRs. Hitting on McConkey and AD Mitchell as lower rated guys was huge.

Our OL was way better when Monken was here, but I also think Bobo likely had a lot to do with Searles getting hired, so I’m not sure he gets a pass there.

Do you think for one second that Monken kicked in Kirby's door and slapped down two dossiers with Ladd and AD and said we gotta get these guys? Monken didn't recruit for shite.

Like Way, or Way Way, or Way Way Way? Yes our OL played like shite this year, I concur.
