I’m not a fire everybody guy, but, at a minimum, Searels has to go.

I haven’t watched it yet, but the Oline missed a bunch and needs a big fixing.

Agreed. If the OL does their job, then Gunner and the RBs have a dramatically different night.

What are your thoughts on our running scheme? Are you a fan of the inside zone?

I don't understand why we run that when we don't have a mobile QB. Others have pointed out that it's easy to read where run will be going out of shotgun, especially when QB isn't a threat to keep.

Why aren't we in pistol more and why don't we utilize more pulling and trap plays? I'm trying to learn more about that stuff but it seems like that style (pulls and traps) is what works in NFL for the mcvay and shanahans of the world.

Just feel like our run game plan is super basic and uncreative.

This is why I believe we need an under-40 innovator at OC. Somebody who has a great idea of where CFB not just is today, but has a solid take on where it's going, too.

I'd love a young & hungry guy who's really making a splash at a smaller program, doing less with more, and would beat his grandma with a tire iron on live at the chance to work with the kind of talent Kirby and team bring in to Athens.

searels and coley are both worthless.

Pre-portal/NIL coley definitely had a role. Questionable as an actual coach but was known as an asbolute rock star lights out recruiter, especially in the hotbed of south florida. Now that relationships don't really matter and it's mostly just a bidding war, his #1 strength is out the window. So he's not the recruiter he used to be and can't coach...so why is he here?

Searles is a guy that I still just continue to scratch my head on. Look at his career resume. STarted small then worked his way up, as have millions of other coaches in hsitory. No issues there. But once he peaked, he then started going back down the mountian again. His career arc looks like a bell curve. And he's never been anywhere more than a few years which is also telling.

Get rid of those 2, demote bobo to QB coach and get a new playcaller, spend some money on the LOS in the offseason and we're in business.

The TEs, especially Yurosek, have done a really poor job blocking all season, too.

This years team just didn't have it. Our offensive staff is simply not operating at a championship level.

Why I think it's important to Stockton to take over and push the players from with in the players cadre and leadership.

I think Coley still provides value from a recruiting standpoint. Especially since we probably aren't going to be setting the price on WR with NIL, having a relationship will be important. He just brought in our best WR class probably ever and may be the reason Noah Thomas comes here via portal. In one calendar year he has majorly upgraded the room is he responsible for.

Agree on Searels. New blood needed.

I'm not a Searles apologist, but the men he's coached for is like a who's who of college coaches. So, at one time, he was well thought of as an OL coach.

Saban @ LSU
Richt @UGA, UM
Beamer @ VT
Brown @ TX, UNC
Smart @ UGA

I know it's a what have you done for me lately business.

Maybe it's the modern offensive systems he has trouble with?

56:30-57:30 …. I didn’t realize on one of their QB pressures a CB had fallen down on a go route and Smith was wide open down field. If Gunner would’ve had about 1-2 more seconds of protection, it likely would’ve been 6. If the announcers pointed it out during the game, I missed it.

I think we need to be good at blocking power, zone, duotype, counter, and boot stuff and be able to run from different formations and be able to run different plays from the same “show” / formations.

We got beat on just about any scheme we tried to run. Not every player, but it only takes 1. Our RBs did fricking amazing work getting what they got on a lot of plays.

I think ND knew what we were trying to do on a few plays, but then Bobo countered with running out of different formations or different plays out of same formations.

Even if they know what we are gonna do, we have to block. I don’t know what happened to these guys. Some games they were awesome. Some games all but 1 player on a given play did great. Against ND.. they missed, got beat, and generally were not dominant.

Our scheme is very similar to what Monken ran. We blocked it better.

Pick a scheme…. Pick a play… it’s not gonna hit big if we are not blocking right.

Durrell Robinson, one of the great 5 star blasts from the past, was rated even higher than Reggie Brown, and Michael Johnson was a big time recruit too.

Class of 2020 also.

We have a solid recruiting haul at receiver coming in, but some of the hype seems like wishful thinking. Expectations already way too high and it's January.

Yes the Sugar Huddle in the second half symbolizes we were either too predictable or they cracked our code.

I agree with this. The expectations on that group to turn things around immediately are unrealistic.

Huston Mason thinks we need to keep Bobo but bring in a dual-threat QB via the portal.

Yeah I don't think the freshman are going to magically fix things, but the more highly rated guys you have, the better chances of you hitting an elite difference maker.

If we get Thomas to go with Branch and Young, that's a good corp and then any freshman contributions make the room that much deeper.
