Your team is loaded with talent, but there were a couple of surprising lapses in judgment from the staff. Maybe that’s less surprising to you, but I haven’t seen Kirby make many mistakes over the past few years.
Your defense played well enough to win, but the offensive play-calling/game plan was shite. Georgia was pushing ND around early and looked like they could exploit ND's razor-thin Dline if they just kept pounding the ball. Instead, they abandoned it on crucial downs, putting Stockton in unnecessarily difficult spots.
To his credit, the kid still made some plays. He threw the ball much better than I expected, especially considering he didn’t get much help from his left tackle or the receivers.

This is by far the worst staff Kirby has had in his tenure. That combined with whiffing on receivers in recruiting gets you what you saw tonight. Credit to ND though, extremely well coached team with a fast defense.

I like Marcus Freeman and was hoping he would pull it together and do well after the NIU disaster -- just not against us
Good game

What you don't understand is that our #1 RB (coincidentally jersey 1) is playing with broken ribs. #2 RB is out with injury. #3 RB out with injury. #4 RB (#3 jersey) is a true freshman. #5 RB is a white walk on, no scholarship, but did some damage as a receiver today.
The reason UGA couldn't "get a running game going" is because we don't have any running backs, combined with the fact ND runs a base defense of man-on-man coverage instead of zone coverage so the defense can get an extra man or two on the LOS.
That's not to diminish ND, the defense absolutely took advantage of anything they could take advantage of, and won, rightfully.
I predicted all of this, on this very forum, multiple times.

I’m truly baffled that people are surprised by this outcome. Just too many factors, many self inflicted, working against us this season.

You guys were playing with a back up qb. It's unfortunate that you couldn't play with a healthy team.

ND's record in big games the last 30 years hasn't been the prettiest fricking thing, I'm sorry to say, so that probably explains why people are surprised.
I wasn't too surprised by the outcome. I knew your RBs had been dealing with injuries all year, and your receivers have had issues with receiving. I was confident ND wouldn't shite themselves like they usually do in big games, and had some confidence they would win. I was a bit surprised that Kirby didn't play it more conservative. The decision to run a two-minute drill at the end of the first half was a mistake, and I also thought his decision to not kick a FG in the 4th Q was questionable.
I get the reasoning - it would’ve still been a two-possession game. But there were two or three possessions left if your defense held, and they’d been solid most of the night. Cross and Watts were both banged up on that drive and defense was toast. If he kicks the FG, gets a quick stop, it would have been a one possession game with plenty of time left.

This was one of Kirby’s games he and his staff was out coached. It happens.

ND played a near perfect game. +2 in turnovers was the key. Kirby should have taken a knee into the locker room at the end of the first half. 10 points won't beat many teams in the playoffs, and Kirby needs to take a hard look at his OC if he wants to win more national championships. However, winning the SECCG was quite a feat given the key injuries this season. No excuses. ND played a near perfect game and deserves to advance.
