Recruiting is a trip. Son flipped today and it’s like a divorce.

Surely the 5 star kids have people do this for them. Not us.

Would you rather they continue courting him, then when he flips back they say sorry, we had to fill that spot, your scholly is no longer available, at a stage in the process where every other school is filled up too and he finds himself walking on somewhere?

A) Congrats. You should be proud.
B) Welcome to college sports, one of very few markets where the power players give politicians a run for their money on being shallow opportunists.

Think about it like a job interview.
If the employer says congrats, we went through 1000 applications and 100 interviews and 20 second interviews, and we've chosen you! Welcome aboard! And then you say, great, I can start at date xx/xx/xxxx. Employer sends the paperwork over, you sign it, send it back.
Then, sometime before the start date, you change your mind, get a better offer, whatever, and tell them you won't actually be working there.
Don't be surprised if they fill that position asap with someone else.

We called to make sure the offer was full. Had a good advisor.

For sure that burned a bridge.
Wasn’t easy.

A month ago you said the coach for the team was the only who made time to come see him play in person and had done it multiple times.
Now your posts sound like you don't think they did enough?
Good luck bro.

Maybe your son is going to be a mini-Trump.

Never said that at all. Didn’t imply it or hint to that. Son wants to go to Florida.

Four posts above you infer they were not straight forward about the financial assistance being offered...

Had a young man who is like a second son go through recruiting last year.
It is an odyssey to say the least. He wasn’t a high level recruit but he now has a full ride at a smaller school.
Recruitment is only the half of it. If your son goes a smaller school route with the hopes of getting good tape to land at a larger school, buckle up. There is a lot more after recruitment.
Good luck you you and yours- it’s a hell of a ride.

We don’t give a frick about the financial assistance. Not even going to go back and reference it.
Kids get paid now.

So it's over NIL.
He's a kicker. Hes never kicked in a college game, sorry demanding more NIL money didn't work out for him.
Good luck in the portal next year.

Jeesus dumbass christ…the school he decommited from was offering $100k/yr…we never even asked what Florida is offering. Never even asked.
Posted on 11/10/24 at 6:12 pm to Gaston
For his sake hopefully more than 100k, otherwise it's poor decision making for a young man his age and poor parenting on your part. Let us know what Florida offers, kids get paid now days after all.
Posted on 11/10/24 at 6:20 pm to DaleDenton
Not even about that. 3 star players don’t get paid until they have impact.

Well every job in the world pays based on results, outside of politics.
