High ranked teams you'd feel the least fear playing in the playoffs:

Here's my list:
#4 Miami. The best team Miami has played this year is Louisville and they won by just 7 points. Had a 4 point win over 5-4 VT and a 1 point win over 4-4 Cal. If my team didn't get a bye, I'd absolutely LOVE to have Miami be the team who they'd face in the second round.
#6 Penn State. They have no ranked wins. 7 point win over Bowling Green. 3 point win over Southern Cal. Biggest win over a major conference opponent was 22 over WVU. Just doesn't look that great.
#8 Indiana. No ranked wins. No ranked opponents even. They have beaten everyone they've played by a large margin, but they are the most untested team in college football. Best win is against 5-4 Nebraska.
#10 Notre Dame. Unimpressive games against meh teams. Louisville by 7 and A&M by 10 are their biggest wins and I'm not sold that either will be ranked at the end of the regular season.
#13 SMU. See Miami. Close wins over Duke, Louisville and Nevada. Loss to BYU at home.
While Texas is unproven, they've got the 4th most talent in college football. That is always scary.
BYU has players on average 2 years older than other teams due to the mormon missions many of their students go on. That always is worrisome playing them, especially if your team is young.

Excellent post and explanation. I would rather play ND than Indiana by a slight margin but you are pretty much on same page as me. It’s hard to understand how USC beat LSU and ND best A&M but it was 1st game so things happen.

None.
Alabama can beat them all or lose to them all.

I don't fear any teams in the playoffs. I want LSU to play the best teams on their way to the championship, not sliding by getting lucky having other teams upset the top seeds.
I get way more entertainment value watching the Tigers beat the best. If they can't beat them, they don't deserve the trophy.

Penn State seems like the easy answer here.
