I found this link on a Texas site and it lets you pick the winner of remaining SEC games and calculates the standings. Idk if it is accurate, but it’s a pretty cool tool.

Link: SEC Standings Calculator

So many different outcomes..

So if LSU splits Texas A&M and Bama and win out we pretty much go to the championship game regardless of scenario

for the most part, but if Auburn beats Alabama.. it keeps y’all out, or at least in the configuration I have now

This is one area of CFB becoming a pro sport I like. November should be a lot of fun.

Every game actually matters when there is a tie.. it’s honestly crazy..

A 4 way tie of A&M, Texas, Georgia and LSU yields some wild results based on games way at the bottom..

All I know is that Texas should be rooting for A&M to win out til our game. Both teams win out and Texas beats them, we then guarantee ourselves a spot in the SEC championship.

Though it’s kinda weird to be rooting for A&M.

yeah i’m not sure I want to play in the SEC CG.. I kind of want to win out and finish 11-1 but watch Atlanta from home

Give me that 5th or 6th seed.

5 vs 12 Boise
Winner plays BYU or Iowa State

6 vs 11 Notre Dame or Penn State
Winner plays Miami or Clemson

or something like that..

There are advantages both ways I suppose.

Hopefully we can win out.

A 9 way tie at 6-2 puts Vanderbilt and Alabama in the SEC CG.

Without a doubt the 5th or 6th seeds are the best spots in the playoffs, if you can get them without losing a conference championship.

1. LSU (7 - 1)
2. Texas (6 - 2)
3. Ole Miss (6 - 2)
4. Texas A&M (6 - 2)
5. Georgia (6 - 2)
6. Tennessee (5 - 3)
7. Vandy (5 - 3)
8. S Carolina (4 - 4)
9. Arkansas (4 - 4)
10. Missouri (4 - 4)
11. Alabama (4 - 4)
12. Kentucky (3 - 5)
13. Florida (2 - 6)
14. Oklahoma (2 - 6)
15. Miss St (0 - 8)
16. Auburn (0 - 8)

I think i screwed up. I must have had Ole Miss beating UGA, that would skew things a bit differently than it is now. Oh well, stranger things have happened.

Interesting to see potential matchups with 5 seed and 6 seed.

I remember hearing about ND being all excited with the new playoff rules. They had specific restrictions, but thought they were favorable to their preferences.

they don’t have any special treatment to my knowledge., they can’t have a bye.. so they just have to be one of the top 7 teams after the 5 conference champs are determined.. no different than any other team who didn’t win the conference

they don’t have to play the weekend after thanksgiving, so they will get some rest that some other teams won’t..
