Will he lose the team? Will more than half the roster transfer? They don't have to sit out.... I have defended Milroe but I realize it is what it is. However I would much rather lose 2 or 3 games than only win 2 or 3 games because we lose half the team to the portal Discuss.......

Put in the players at every position that give you the best chance at winning. If guys want to leave because of that, then those guys are probably part of the problem.

Rip the bandage off. Milroe has no business taking another snap at quarterback for Alabama. Only one of his family members would defend him after yesterday. If there are players on the team now who lay down and pull a stunt like they did at USF last year then they should be suspended. DeBoer has to cleanse the wound and move forward with his vision if he’s a true leader.

Saban kicked the can down the road last year with Milroe and we lucked up and won the SEC.

It caught up to us in the playoffs.

Give Simpson a real chance and anyone that half-asses can ride the pine the rest of the year.

I would let it be known whoever quit on the team so any NIL folks who wanted to come calling would know it.

If Milroe is the problem then his job is to fix the problem. You always fix the problem. You show the players what you stand for and what you won't put up with. They are like children, they'll test you. Give them an inch and they'll take a mile.

I'd rather have 30 players that want to be here and play disciplined ball than 125 that don't.

Even if he benches Milroe some of the play calling, def and off, is bad. We've called passing plays the last two weeks where we should have just run it. Our def on UTs 1st td run was either woefully misaligned or we were in that stupid 335 def. Haven't went back and watched it yet. Either way that's on coaching.

The first UT touchdown happened because we were in a 3 man front on a passing play that almost scored and then they did a hurry up so we couldn’t substitute and had to keep that same alignment.

That's what I thought....I couldn't believe it when I saw it. Hell a timeout would have been the best thing to do right then.

I posted about it yesterday.

There was a player revolt when he was benched last year.

The OL refused to block. Josh Pate has repeatedly stated on his show that he was told as much by sources within the program last year.

Buchner and Simpson easily could’ve been injured with some of the hits they took from defenders who were unabated to the QB.

If you want to see what a player protest looks like rewatch that game in the rain.

The questions are:
-Is Simpson actually any good? We don’t know
-In the NIL era what happens if you bench a popular player with endorsements and a big NIL deal
-Are there players who will leave or quit mid season?
-Are there players who will leave for not being utilized if he stays?

Proctor, Booker, Roberts and Pritchett are all back from last year. If I’m DeBoer I’d sit down with them tomorrow, show the tape and have a very blunt conversation with them IF and only IF I am confident Simpson is SEC ready.

Ultimately if you have players ready to quit due to a player being benched you aren’t in charge until you force their hand. DeBoer is a player friendly coach which is probably a good thing in the NIL era.

But he’s benched other players, if he decides it’s time to make a change at QB he’s getting paid a lot of money to figure out how to execute the switch.

Did you see any revolt when Manning was brought in at Texas? If the players here do that they all need benched as well.

It depends on how it unfolds… if it’s solely his decision then yeah, he’ll lose the team. IF, best scenario, the players come to him with concerns and suggest a change, then the lockeroom is intact… save for a few Milroe groupies.
The fact RW and KLaw were visibly frustrated with the balls they were receiving was a good sign to me.

Agreed. That’s why I’m hoping players come to him about a change. They watched Sark pull Ewers… so maybe they started thinking about it.

We will win the next 5 or so games because we will be allowed to run a FULL offense.

Our offense will become more explosive.

Our receivers/running backs/tight ends benefit more with him as the quarterback. Just being REAL!

There was no revolt.

Georgia made them look like crap. Both quarterbacks.

Everyone loves to trot this theory out but the one question they can never answer is if it's true then why the hell is Ty still here? The team actively sabotaged his chance of being the starter and he was just like "Oh well I guess I'll stick around and be a backup on a team full of guys who apparently hate me."

He had two portal opportunities to get the hell out and you know damn well another team would have paid him to come play for them. Auburn would have dropped a bag on him in the portal. So why stay? If the team really quit on him give one good reason he isn't gone.

Yep. Texas looked soft as toilet paper last night against Georgia.

That’s true.

It’s also true Simpson didn’t look very good when we brought him in.

None of know what we do or don’t have with him yet.

We just know Milroe is broken mentally.

So it comes down to whether DeBoer thinks he can fix him or is Simpson good enough in practice to make the switch knowing the consequences.

It’s not me saying they quit, it was Josh Pate, his sources and the film. You’re free to think whatever you want about it.

Watch that game again and tell me the OL wasn’t playing at half effort.

As for why Simpson stayed I have no idea.

Maybe he has a GF here he wants to marry?
Maybe he has an NIL deal?
Maybe he didn’t like his transfer options?
Maybe he thinks he’s the guy when Milroe moves on?

I said the same thing. There's a reason why some of these players haven't won a national championship under Coach Saban.

One change needs to be made and that's at quarterback.

It’s amazing how it’s the same three posters on here who constantly gaslight for Milroe. Not referring to you. No one with a working brain would defend him at this point.

Josh Pate told people that Jalen Milroe had a good spring/summer but Ty Simpson has had a dam good one as well.

Jalen Milroe was throwing picks in scrimmages. What made people think he was top tier?
