After I rewatched it...

-CJ Dippre could've had a big game. The guy was open all freaking game just about.

-Hollywood Williams played extremely well in a hostile environment.

-Germie Bernard played extremely well.

-Cole Adams played a great game. He's one guy who is underutilized in this offense.

-Caleb Odom blocked his arse off and he should've gotten the fade ball thrown his way.

Defensively

-The entire front played good. (They stayed on the field so much in the second half because of the offense...it eventually started to wear on them)

-LT Overton was a mad man.

-Buck Robinson has shown up game after game.

-The Linebackers were much better.

-Jaylen Mbakwe played well.

-Domani Jackson had a good game.

-Malachi Moore probably had one of his better games yesterday.

-Bray Hubbard is a star in the making. He needs playing time. He's a thumper and he doesn't mind coming down hill to stop a running back in his tracks. He read the screen pass on that third down stop.

Special Teams

-I thought both the kicker and punter did extremely well.

-Cole Adams is different. He got like a Javier Arenas type of approach as a returner. If we only knew how to block and set up a return for him though.

Does make me wonder why Coach Saban didn't have this guy fielding punts last season!

Defense wasn’t great but it was good enough to win yesterday.

Should have buried them in the 1st half when we had the chance

We should have at least been up 14 in the first half.

The only reason why the defense tapered off was because of the offense though.

Like it was literally supposed to be 21-0 easy!

I don't know why I'm blaming the offense...OUR QUARTERBACK crippled our defense!

Should've been 21-0

Defense shut them down for a half and gave the offense three turnovers.

That’s despite obvious injuries to Saab and what I suspect are other injuries at LB that led to people getting taken advantage of in the 2H.

The ILB play in the 2H was horrible again but otherwise I thought the defense was outstanding.

If you can keep the other team to 24 points after your QB gives the ball away twice against an elite team on the road that should be enough to win.

In this case the QB and Law with his penalty killed 5+ drives many of which should’ve generated points.

That along with the penalties was the singular story of the game.

-TE was open on almost every key play
-Other WRs were often open
-Williams was getting force fed because he’s the only read Milroe is making
-RBs started to establish themselves in the 2H until game flow and play calls took them out of it
-other than the unwillingness to run inside I thought the play calls were pretty good
-Milroe choked and couldn’t unlock any of the opportunities we had to put them away.

We put Formby in a RT and ran the ball all the way out from our end-zone to midfield without throwing a pass.

So basically you're saying we were a QB away.

Coach Smook is a guy that does that. I love the dude but when people say well Ty Simpson isn't good...I'm like buddy Ty Simpson is two times better than that hunk of garbage I just witnessed yesterday.

Give the man a shot!

At least I don't have to watch the Saints get whipped today.

Because they got fricking annihilated on Thursday night by Bo Nix.

OUr punter had a poorer night then usual. He had a chance to flip the field and back to back he left it on the UT side around the 47 yard line. There was no return as the ball didnt go as far and our guys downed it. The kicker wasnt close on his long miss

Our punter was good. Our kicker was good.

Out of the kickers range on the field goal attempt. I'm not holding that against him.

Yep. I haven't been paying attention to Dippre's blocking, but he plays his role in the passing game damn well. Which ties into another positive thing that can be kind of hard to see with all our other woes: our play design consistently results in guys (often Dippre) being, essentially, free options for a good chunk of yards - like, more than just the classic "outlet." Not saying we necessarily flow well in our playcalling (and I'm sure as shite not wading into the whole Milroe drama ), but we have some elite play design/offensive concepts.

Folks complain about the offensive play calling but if they ever check the film...they'll be like dam that dude was wide TF open.

Crazy that there was a lot of optimism for both teams about a month ago
