I know you guys are seasoned pros by now, but this one’s looking rough. My heart goes out to all y’all in Milton’s path. Praying for this thing to weaken a ton over the next two days!

Hope it can drop to at least a 3.

Hope Tampa evacuates better than Houston did with Rita. Hope the politicos learn the lesson of Rita’s evacuation failures.

That is a bad fricking storm.

Good luck Florida.

Yeah. Looks like folks are heeding the warnings. We got family in Naples we offered a place to evacuate to. But, they’ve got a whole home generator & hunkering down.

My friends house is on Anna Maria Island, a small island in the mouth of Tampa Bay. It’s about a 2.5 million dollar home. He lost the entire first floor 10 days ago in Helene and that storm was 200 miles north. The highest point on the island is about 7 feet above sea level!

The entire island may be gone after this storm hits.

It's going to weaken but the storm surge is going to be a mother...

The thing I hate about hurricanes is hoping it doesn't hit you is hoping it hit someone else.

But it would be better for the Tampa area for it to hit on the south side.

I hope you are leaving. Very likely you get hit with the winds from the west.

If it does that it will hit directly at my house in Sarasota. It will hit St. Pete before it hits Tampa, tho.

What does it run on and do they have a three week supply of it?

I'm leaving tomorrow unless there is a decent change in the path or it somehow weakens.

A guy on my team is in Seminole, right around Tampa. He is 3 miles from the coast and he is choosing to stay.

I’ve asked him to reconsider

Hooked up to their gas supply. I get it’s hard to leave your home, but not happy with the choice.

I've considered it. I'm on the north side of Tampa, have hurricane windows and a 4k watt portable to keep my deep freeze and other vitals going. And my zone isn't mandatory yet, and if it hits on the current path I should get the easterly winds.

But for the record, I think you are nuts. Have a rental down there and Bradenton, don't have high hopes. I hope it hits south of you.

I don't know how to say this in a courteous way; you are a fricking moron. Your wife and kids dude. Get the frick out of there. You have the means to do it, but you want social media cred for "riding it out".

If you survive, I don't want to see you posting on here about relief help or wo is me bullshite.
