Unless PSU pulls off the upset, it appears as if ESPN is already throwing its complete backing to the AP awarding USC its national championship regardless the outcome of UF/UO.

Seperate segments show Lou and May discussing the validity of USCs claim to a share of the the title if they win the Rose Bowl. Pete Carroll discussing his bewilderment by the current computer influenced system and political posturing of this defense as the best he has had at USC and maybe of the best in the history of USC. Lee and Kirk discussing the winner of the Rose Bowl (favoring USC) as the national champion no matter who was playing in other games.

Not being involved like LSU was in 2003 makes this actually a laughing experience for me.

Texas has a far better chance of splitting the National Championship than USC does and that's saying something because we pretty much have no chance.

USC won the Pac10. Texas didnt even win their division of the Big12. Its the same argument UGA had at the end of last season and UT would be considered no more favor than UGA.

It's not a matter of should, it's a matter of would and a Texas team that was right on the doorstep of making it into the BCS Title Game (and whom many National Pundits already say were screwed out of their shot) would easily get the nod over USC if a blowout of Ohio State were to happen.

Like I said though, it doesn't matter. There will be no split. Winner of OU/Florida will take home both polls. As it should be.

Don't forget that if Bama beats this world class Utah team they will claim part of the NC too.

Texas is the only team who would have a legitimate arguement.

That is factually incorrect. Three teams won the Big XII South.

I wouldn't mind a split. There is no national champion anyway. It is just all one huge joke. Just like last year several teams will likely be able to argue they are the best team in the country. If USC, TX, Bama, and either OU or UF win, all will be from major conferences with the same record. Like I said there is no NC and it is all one big joke every year.

The media does this every year. They discuss USC's big Rose Bowl win against a hapless Big 11 team as say "USC is probably the best team at the end of the season". For the last 3 seasons they mention whether USC should be considered for the title, despite the fact that USC isn't even in the top 4. (5,7,5 going into bowls). Hell, last year they were ranked 7th in final BCS standings and after LSU won the title the media STILL discussed "should USC have been in the game and are they the best team". Its ridiculous but I'm used to it by now.

You must not have ABC on. Musberger won't let it go. He is Southern Cal's biggest cheerleader. "Kirk, the AP can vote for whomever they want to #1 like they did in 2003."

But in 2004 when Auburn was undefeated they wouldn't dare share USC's title with us. It is all mythical

Everyone on ESPN is talking about a split. But listen, these guys all year long are allowed to vote and they had an opportunity to vote for the Trojans to be in the nat'l championship.Writers said USC finished strong but they're conference schedule is weak that's why there are not in it.Then after they demolish a big-11 team in the Rose Bowl, they say there should be a split.Every friggan year it's the same stuff coming out of the mouths of guys that voted.

Exactly, these bigmouths could have voted USC No. 1 or 2 before the bowls and given them a chance. Instead they ranked them 5 this year, 7 last year, then suddenly campaign that they should be the national champ. Its really hard to understand their agenda. Why campaign so hard for a team every year after the bowls when THEY could vote for that team before the bowls and put them in the title game?

I bet the vote will be very close if not in favor for USC to get the AP trophy. Every time Pete's named is mention they say he has 2 MNC now they will say he has 3.
