$9.5 million per season. Over $700,000 per game. Add in all the assistants, staff and travel expenses, and LSU spent way, way over $1,000,000 for last nights performance.
A million dollars sure doesn’t get you what it used to.

He lost a close game against a quality opponent. I think everyone is overreacting to this loss. It's not like they got blown out.
Look at what AnM and South Carolina and Florida put on the field this opening weekend.
Those are your point and laugh targets, not LSU.

And he won. That seems like a much better return on investment.

Don’t let this distract you from the fact the Blake Baker is the highest paid DC in the country at $2.5 mil

That's a lot of money for a coach who's lost five of his last six games against AP ranked opponents and is 3 - 6 against AP ranked opponents in his time at LSU.

I didn’t notice any of those fans bragging about how good they would be this season before it kicked off.
LSU on the other hand….
Making the playoffs and losing in the first round was touted as the worst case scenario by most LSU fans here. They, along with their team, overlooked USC I guess.

BK will keep slamming tables until he is the highest paid coach. Also, does the top 7 include Jimbo Fisher?

You need to work on your reading comprehension.
I heard a lot of skepticism from the fanbase here. A lot of wait and see. And a WHOLE lot of “CBK better not lose another season opener”.
Many posts discussing CBK on the “hot seat” last week, too.
Likewise, lotta the college football media picked USC to win the game last week.
So …. Go back and read through the posts, come back to reality with the rest of us.

To be fair, A&M is likely going to finish with a top 10 defense and they didn’t have to pay their DC $2.5m to do so

I watched with 3 LSU fans IRL and they were saying all of that leading into kickoff.
They were saying Milroe is trash, Muss is elite, and some Perkins was going to win Heisman.

In their defense I will say we were all hammered.

Eh, last night was pretty much what I expected.
A sloppy game that would come down to who had the ball last.
