In 3 years, Jeff Lebby will be either unemployed OR the next hot coach for whatever.

He’s gruff, proven, and an offensive guru.

IF state can somehow manage this gauntlet the SEC office continues to send towards Starkville, it’s ON.

Success with this top 6 strength of schedul: 6 wins.

Hell, the national title winner may end up with 2 losses with states schedule. (Thanks again benevolent SEC for you kind scheduling practices towards one of, if not the most besieged universities in the conference).

The key is can he create defense or will he be another LR clone? He will have good offenses but D is the trick.

States have some stout defenses in recent years.

He was always on my list if Kiffen left. But as always there are questions with an unproven coach. He could end up run of the mill 8 win seasons. Which isn’t a resounding success or failure. I do think he has some good tools on offense to work with this year. Might be a lot of shootouts.

The talking heads keep harping on 11 new starters on offense, but we aren’t talking about 11 young, inexperienced players. These guys are mature with a lot of playing time. The tights ends are large guys with good hands, the RB room is deep with players that have very good yards per carry numbers, 5 receivers run 21+ mph, and Shapen can fling it if he stays healthy.

I will wait and see if they can pull it together, but it wouldn’t be shocking if the offense is really good this year.
