After 7 teams in 4 seasons, Jacob Eason has been released by Green Bay. Just can't get a break.
Jake Fromm, after 4 teams in 4 seasons, is with the Buffalo Bills this season.

The higher level you go, the more you need to process a very confusing situation very fast. It is a gift. Some people have it more than others.

I remember people saying "If we fire Richt, then Jacob Eason won't come here!"

I will never forget.

I think that is Stets jam, then has to execute with the nonprotypical body type.

Does show the brain ans processing maters. See Drew Brees.

Eason was fool’s gold from the start. He literally played in basically a home-school YMCA league in high school. And the usual suspects swallowed the hook.

Where is JT Daniels btw? Eason is lucky to have him so he’s not the single biggest QB bust in Georgia history

Fields transferring takes that bust off of us. How bad are big 10 defenses?

Call me crazy but I'd put guys like Brice Ramsey, blake Barnes, etc on that list ahead of those guys since they actually did start and win some games for us.

I’m factoring ludicrous fanboy hype levels into the equation though.

-there’s never been anything like it where Easin is concerned

-to be fair, JT Daniels fanboy hype was probably boosted by Stet-hate by several percentile

He’s still in the league? I saw him at the contractors counter at the Epps Bridge Home Depot not that long ago.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Bobo loved him for some reason

Eason and Fields were the victims of their own talent IMO. They had so much natural ability that they didn’t have the patience to learn how to play QB at a high level. We saw it with Eason who was used to zipping it to an open guy rather than anticipating them coming open…and Fields who was used to his athleticism carrying him.

Eason started as a true freshman with a true freshman coach so to speak, not a good position to be in. He got hurt in the first game of his soph season and Fromm took over with a really hot hand. Eason was classy and didn't pout publically, but the writing was on the wall for him at that point. He transferred, sat out a year as was customary, never talked shite.

Fields, where do I even begin with him. He had Eason's arm with Gurley's legs, and great instinct on his feet. I blame Kirby and Chaney for the mismanagement of his freshman season. I'm not saying Fields should have started over Fromm, but there were many points in that season where Fields should have gotten valuable reps and done more than handing off the ball or trying to hide behind a lineman on a fake punt. fricking stupid shite in real time, not just in hind sight. The reason we all hate him is because when he transferred, he got to waive the "sit out a year" by calling UGA racist. As soon as that race card got pulled, many (rightly so) said "frick you Justin Fields".

This.

Without that injury, I think Eason’s career turns out very differently. He played really well for a freshman in the SEC. Sitting out a year with injury hurt his development and he didn’t get the same level of coaching in Washington.

Agreed, the fake punt made me think "Kirby's having some growing pains." It was just a wtf moment. He lost all sympathy with the race card saga though

it was an absolutely brilliant playcall. Genius. The only failling, which was monumental, was having fields be the protector instead of a tight end. That's more an execution issue though, and there's no doubt the execution was a total failure. The playcall itself though was one of the best I've seen and would have gone down in SEC FB lore if it was simply executed as it should've been.
