Rerick is removing his name from the 2024 MLB Draft and will play for the Longhorns.

So no one drafted him? Or did he withdraw before the draft started?

That's massive, I really didn't expect him to make it to campus.

None of these 2025 guys is really gonna matter until after the 2024 season. Weiner is the only solid recruiter at Texas that has a shot at competing against Earley and crew. And I wouldnt blame HS pitchers for wanting him as their coach considering the insane season he had as a coach for A&M.

But my guess is that A&M takes most anyone that want from Texas after the 2024 regular season. And this of course assumes they make it to Omaha again which is never easy, especially if you have a #1, #2 or #3 preason ranking on your forehead. No way Texas has the talent in 2025 to compete for the top spots in the SEC and a deep Omaha run. But 2026+ Schloss has an opportunity to get them to SEC standards.

See if Weiner can duplicate his magic or if his superb single season of coaching was more about having veteran pitching talent available to him.

Weiner is Texas' most valuable coaching asset.

And this is where you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

I'm curious. Do any players ever follow Schlossnagle? He doesn't seem very popular with players that are currently on staff. Only recruits appear to follow him. I wonder why that is?

Every coach follow him.

Now any hitter follow Michael Earley? From A&M to Texas or from Texas to A&M?

None of his players followed him from TCU to a&m either, but that didn’t stop him from being the greatest men’s athletic coach in aggie history, and nobody at a&m thought anything of it nor had a problem with that back in 2021. I wonder why that is?

You seem confused. So a “flip” is when a recruit decommits from one school to commit to another.

In this case, Autrey reneged on his a&m pledge to play for Texas instead.

Weird seeing LSU break as a result of A&M dominating the portal season this summer.
