Red River Shootout story from Jim Donnan about Barry Switzer....

Donnan does a podcast each week on Georgia football and he tells a lot of Switzer stories.
It was like 1986 or 1987 and Oklahoma was up by 30 or so at halftime. He said as soon as the team got into the locker room, Switzer said:
"Don't get comfortable. We're taking our arse right back outside. They ain't no reason to go over anything, Their arse is beat. But my wife has told me for 15 years now that Texas has got the best damn marching band in college football and damn if I ain't gonna hear them play before I'm done coaching and today's as good a day as any. So get ya arse up and let's go back out."

Switzer finished it up by saying, "She's right. aggy has nothing on them."

For starters...Pretty sure Switzer had been divorced for a while in '86/'87... and he hadn't stolen the gymnastics coaches wife (his current wife) quite yet...
Switzer was "dating around" during that period.
Secondly, Texas band DID win the Sudler Trophy for the top collegiate marching band in '86. Oklahoma's band actually won it in '87.
But it does sound like something Switzer would have said. OU hammered Texas pretty good both of those years.
