Waiting to announce after coach meets with his team.

There were some earlier tweets saying Brian O’Connor was a done deal and will be announced after he informed his team, but it looks like they’ve been deleted. Now a tweet saying Dan Heefner is the leading candidate

The coach will be the coach and we’ll see how it plays out from there. Enough bitching and complaining from us that have very little to do with the university. They’re going to do what they do

Gnash just did.
On a certain popular TAMU website’s board, the post stating he was the pick was very quickly deleted. All other coaching reference posts have been allowed to remain up. But nothing official yet.
And Hayden Schott posted a very cryptic post at the same time all this broke, then he deleted it, adding fuel to the fire.
If he’s the hire, I’m good with it, as is everyone responding. Great addition.

O’Conner would be an upgrade. That would be funny. But I don’t think it is him. Smoke is that it’s Heefner, who is a hell of a coach. Imagine what he could do at A&M!
And he told the sips to pound sand when they hired Pierce so fine with me! At least he’s a good man

There is only one coach that still has his team together. All the other teams are spread out playing summer ball across the country.

Whoever it is will tell them over text message and then we'll have another fanbase whining about a coaching change.

Cat appears to be out of the bag. Heefner - who is a great individual and a hell of a coach. I’m great with this pick! He also won’t cost a ton, and all the money is going to NIL to get our players back

I’d be very happy with Heefner as well. He hasn’t wanted to budge from DBU though, so it would be a very interesting hire if he’s actually being pried away.

Will you stop with this nonsense?

Sure, just as soon as your fanbase stops whining because a coach dared to leave Aggieland

Yeah, good. I was interested in Heefner last coaching cycle

It’s spreading like wildfire on TexAgs. It says a lot about A&M that he would come here when he told the sips to pound sand. He’s a great character guy, and it you do your research he puts guys in the league. An upgrade over the PoS, just from a character standpoint alone - if he can recruit. Got DBU of all places to the Supers.
If Pennington comes with him a HR of a hire

Would be really happy with either! Fingers crossed!

HOPE HOPE HOPE it's Heefner.
In addition to being a fantastic baseball coach, he's an even better human being by many accounts. A real players' coach, and almost 180 degrees from what Schloss is as a man and as a mentor to his players.
And it doesn't hurt that Texas tried to hire him when he turned them down and they hired Pierce.
This would be a net positive for us, and with more than a little irony.
