I don't think there's a poll feature here but in the history of heinous moves in college sports like this, how bad was this move of Schloss from Texas A&M to Texas?

a) Kiffin from Tennessee to USC bad
b) Riley from Oklahoma to USC bad
c) a combination of both
d) Other because there have been much worst cases

Looking forward to everybody's answer.

Worse than both neither of those are rival schools, neither are coming off significant success like being that close to a National Championship. Riley had Oklahoma in the big picture, but honestly they were never really a threat to win a championship those years.

As bad as it gets.
I know money gets ahead of things but he had what he needed at A&M to be a contender every year.
Leaving for their Biggest Rival is no bueno as we say in Texas.
I personally hope he crashes and burns but he is a great coach.
Still hasn’t won won though.

if it were football, it would be the biggest dick slap in the history of sports

Leaving for a hated rival that your team tried to escape and is on the verge of having to play again every year and right after your team was so close to a national title. Then finding out the deal was done before the tourney even started.

Would be more like Kiffin to Bama, or Riley to Texas bad. Don't see how it gets much worse

It’s pretty much the lowest move you can make. You’re basically saying “I’m ok with everyone knowing and agreeing with the fact that I am a piece of shite”.

This wasn't about money. Sure he is going to get a big deal but A&M would've matched or beat any offer. He didn't even give them a chance

Grab some popcorn because this whole story still has legs. The potential purging of the A&M roster could get ugly.

Wait until A&M sues him. Those discussions are happening now

Hard to say. We don’t know what all went down behind the scenes. Of course on the surface it looks bad but what if he and the AD didn’t get a long? What if he just didn’t vibe with the A&M atmosphere(It isn’t for everybody)? What if Texas was his dream job and something he couldn’t say no to? How he handled the situation was poor but if we’re being honest I don’t think he could’ve said or did anything to make this look better. It was always going to be bad.

That makes sense. A&M might as well have a loss in the courtroom to go along with their loss on the field. They can make commemorative plaques and put them in the trophy case. Lord knows there is plenty of room.

At least it will be out in the open about what a PoS he is. I’m sure he doesn’t really care.

He is a Coach who works for a living, a good living, but he works. For some, that is lost on message boards.

This more than likely came down to working for CDC, rather than the A&M AD who he knew for a matter of months that recently fired men he considered friends, or at least respected.

I doubt that it was a decision that came down to UT v A&M as rivals.

I think its worse than any of them due to it being an in state rival. It is also because of the timing of how it went down. And with Texas being sure to announce the firing of Pierce right before Aggy played game 3 of CWS. It just seems sleazy all the way around.

When you look at it from the Perspective of contract logistics. He was coming to Texas, even if Aggie won the national championship. It was a done deal.

Call it what you will. Boss move, a-hole move, The ultimate Dragging of nuts across the face of your number one competitor.

It certainly wasn’t passive aggressive.

It isn’t that he left. It’s that he screwed us to the wall on the way out the door. Took the entire staff, and is now poaching players. He’s a PoS - a turd of a human being.

Garbage. Good fit for Texas.
