They woke up this morning and are surprised that the football season still hasn't started.

Football season never ends. Not sure what you're talking about. This is just the recruiting part of football season.

The day LSU baseball season ends is my least favorite day of the sports year. With college football, I just transition over to NFL.

Nor does college baseball season. Year round sport.

I wouldn't know because I don't really care about baseball.

Team not competitive enough for you?

Not much of a baseball fan. I find it to be fairly boring to watch.
Back in my days as a student at UGA I went to a lot of UGA sporting events... because they were free or mostly free. Football of course, but also men's and women's basketball, swimming, track and field, volleyball and gymnastics events.
Never went to a UGA baseball game as a student.
Even when UGA has been good (like their CWS run in 2008), I didn't actually watch any games. I was happy the team did well, but I never cared enough to actually WATCH. It's boring as hell.

It’s ok. People with really low IQs don’t generally have the mental capacity to appreciate the nuances and constant small battles that make up the complete war of a baseball game

I was just roasting you, man. Baseball is boring to me, too, but I was invested this year.

Yes, because watching a batter step off and step back in and step off and adjust his gloves and step back in and then take a pitch and then do the same thing for several minutes is such great television to watch.
Baseball on TV would be great if they edited it like they do professional poker broadcasts so they only show interesting moments rather than every pitch/hand.
I was into fantasy baseball for a good 10 year period. I followed MLB closely because of that. I still didn't watch the games, because baseball is boring to watch. It's less interesting than golf.

Okay, you lost me here. Poker is more interesting than golf.

No it's not.
Poker is interesting on TV because they essentially just show highlights. It's not a live event.
Live poker is a LOT of down time. Plenty of hands with zero action.
Any sport edited down to interesting moments is better viewing. Golf would be that way too. As would baseball.
What gives golf an edge over baseball is they can cut around to different groups on the course to show the most interesting action. With baseball you just get the game on the field, and that game involves a whole lot of non action with the batter stepping out of the box, the pitcher shaking off signs, wiping his nose and checking the runner on first, the batter taking pitches and then stepping out again to look to the dugout for signs... not to mention the time between innings and the breaks to bring in a reliever and let him warm up.
Baseball highlights are great to watch. The actual game is simply boring.

Fall camp is about 5 weeks away. This time frame is what us SEC fans call the wilderness.

It’s what spurrier calls “talkin’ season”

Ah yes...
Baseball... "thinking man's" game...
A game where the "thinking man" has plenty of time to do his "thinking"...

Through the first six games, the 2024 Men's College World Series averaged 1.2 million viewers on ESPN—its largest TV audience on record.
NCAA tournament championship - 14.82 million viewers
CFP title game - 25 million viewers (32.8 million for the Rose Bowl.)
Strange how few of you baseball loving geniuses there are when compared to other sports.

No one actually cares about baseball. When you are at a game you will see people doing all manner of shite other than watching the game because its more boring than watching grass grow. I go to a good many Braves games and minor league games every summer because its as good a way to drink beer of an evening as any but the games are rarely intriguing. Even when something is happening in the game it is on par with a huddle in football. The numbers don't lie...baseball is losing ground to auto racing and soccer. Auto racing and soccer for fricks sake. The only thing more boring than baseball, auto racing and soccer as a spectator is golf......no one cares and the numbers do not lie....

This a good bit of the problem with baseball...it is supposedly a thinking man's game. And it is for certain...most of the thinking going on is "why the frick am I watching these folks stand around scratching and spitting and doing nearly nothing for 3 and a half hours?". Soccer fans make similar claims...if anyone were truly interested in such things staring contests would eclipse any and all sports. Chess players would be making billions. There is a lot of thinking associated with baseball....
"2 hours in and its only the top of the fifth?"
"What kind of between innings entertainment is coming up...I have to pee and I hate to miss the mascot races...better go while the game is going on, I won't miss anything that way".
"How long 'til we all sing "take me out to the ballgame...I am bored out of my fricking mind".
"How late in the game can I still buy beer?"
Lots of thinking going on in baseball parks.....
