Ags will start Lamkin, who has been a stud this post season. More than likely see Rudis come in relief. He’s got. 2.45 conference ERA. Then we will have Evan Aschenbeck close it out

Lamkin vs SeCHRIST

If Ash comes in with a lead we win. If he does not we lose.

Whoever knocks the starter out first will probably win.

Who is Sechrist? How many innings is likely?

Who else will the Vols pitch?

Sechrist pitched 6.1 in closing out Evansville in supers and didn’t allow an earned run. He also threw 6.1 scoreless in closing out FSU, until he was pulled after back to back homers.

I’m guessing Connell if the need to face some lefties and maybe Snead again, since he only threw 15 pitches today. Beyond that, not sure who they turn to if Sechrist goes only 3 or 4. Probably an arm or 2 Vol fans will be holding their breath through. Phillips or Benkhe maybe?

Vols are pitching Zander Sechrist. If he stays out of trouble his first two innings, he’s good for 6+ innings. Beam got the accolades, Sechrist has been arguably the better pitcher at season’s end IMO. After Sechrist, the entire staff is available other than Beam and Combs.

And this makes me sad.

In a championship game anything goes in baseball when it comes to the pitching staff. All hands on deck. Last game of the year in a championship setting is the one rare scenario in the sport where pitch counts and tired arms are not exactly a concept.

Even someone like Combs I would not fully rule out coming in to attempt to get one out if needed.

Combs told Vitello he could go tomorrow. All hands on deck.

Thanks for the info. 6+ scoreless to close out FSU is impressive.
