It's a luxury good you are free to buy or not. Why people whine about a voluntary transactions is beyond me. It's not food. It's not water. Not healthcare. Move along with your life.

I canceled my Disney Hulu ESPN+ package. The value just isn’t there and the interface on ESPN and Hulu are Terrible. I can find the shite I want to watch because of the “recommended” stuff which is really just them pumping whatever show they just released.

Yeah, but if you DON’T pay, THEN what are you going to do? Talk to your wife? Read a book? Do something with your fricking kids?

The only value from ESPN+ is watching the baseball regionals, especially Squeeze Play.
Other than that, unless you are a rabid UFC fan, or a fan of a mid-major conference, it's really not worth it.

We have the package, which the kids log into remotely. Pay for the family to watch Disney flicks, and I don't mind. Hulu has a ton of baseball games this time of year.

Its just amazing that people complain about having to pay for streaming college baseball. If it wasnt streaming you wouldnt be able to watch it.

i think its more due to the fact that it was free (or included in basic cable) for almost 15 years.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this year is the debut of a new scheduling format for SEC games across all ESPN platforms, including ESPN+.
We will probably reach a point with this new television package where it will be required, or at the very least it will be heavily subsidized by the additional fees inherent in other stream platforms, like YouTube TV (even if you're not paying for it directly).

You were getting it on the cheap the last half of that period because Disney was giving out services below costs to prop up their streaming business and get subscribers. Now that it has become apparent to them that they got their teeth kicked in, you actually have to pay at cost.

6.99 is cheaper than a sports bar. For UGA's annual ESPN+ games (football) I buy it for the day, then cancel. I consider it pay-per-view. $6.99 won't even get you a value meal at McDonald's so I don't consider it a big deal, but it is a hassle, small as it is, a hassle none the less.

You can pay for the Hulu/ESPN+/Disney bundle which is cheaper than paying for all 3 (or maybe even 2) seperately.
I've wanted ESPN to have it's own streaming option for years now. I don't pay for ESPN+ because I don't think it includes (or didn't at launch) the basic ESPN/ESPN2 content due to cable/satellite contracts. If that changes then I will acquire it.
