I tried to do it last year, and won, but was lambasted by election deniers. I can't host it this year due to indictments. Who here will pick up the baton and host the GSB 2024 Rib-Off?

Don't we have a handle like BBQDawg or similar?

Seems like a natural fit

Been following it for the past years and this may be my first year entry.
What is the date for the rib-off?

The franchise has been broken. Too few participants, judges easily swayed and compromised and of course the ballot stuffing that occurred last year.

There needs to be more cooks and fewer critics.

I’ll cook in it this year now that I figured out how to post pictures.

Since I've never competed in the cook off here, I'd rather just cook and paste pictures. Job has me pretty busy this time of year so not sure I could keep up with it daily.

Hopefully the cook off happens.

The winner should be decided by the number of upvotes received on their submission post. Which will be labeled by the contestant as their final entrant post. Give a deadline. Any votes received after the deadline aren’t counted. Maybe downvotes should count against the tally too? I plan to participate this year with my raggedy old masterbuilt gravity series smoker.

Anyone on the entire tigerdroppings site, including all of their multiple user names, could upvote/downvote using that method. That would be worse than mail-in ballots during 2020. A complete shite show.

I did weighted voting when I ran it, and that's how the Food and Drink board does their cooking competitions on their board too.

The rules when I ran the operation:

Vote a 1,2,3,4.

1 gets 4 points.
2 gets 3 points.
3 gets 2 points.
4 gets 1 point.

Contestants could vote, and even vote for themselves, but they couldn't vote themself #1.

You can upvote and downvote if you aren’t a member of the board?

There are a lot of people on the TD site that have access to this board and can up/downvote. I was incorrect on the "anyone/everyone" statement. But if you choose to take this on, host it, and I think you should, you can make any rules you want. I will give input and criticism where I see fit, but if you put the hat on for this year, I will abide by your rules.

As the reigning champion and previous host of the 2023 Rib-Off,
I hereby appoint Griffindawg as the 2024 Rib-Off Czar.

Three up votes in the next 24 hours will sign, seal, and deliver it.
