Hope you have a good Memorial day! Let’s not forget the brave ones who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Without them and Gods blessings, we would not be able to enjoy what we enjoy today. Congrats to the ones still playing baseball today.

Also a special time for veterans out there to remember the ones we served with. Memorial Day hits really close to home to the ones who actually knew the men lost or who was there to see it.

This was one of my good friends when I joined. This one stung and still stings every early October.

I couldn’t agree more. We will never be able to repay them adequately. Ever

I think of the men I knew and worked with who were drafted to go to Vietnam and some of the stories they told of being put out in marshes and left to fight and survive til their underwear rotted off as their buddies were dying around them. They’d make a push to gain ground and be called off because they were winning.

These men were spit on when they came home and had no idea why. Sure some soldiers did some bad things but the majority of them were fighting to live and get back home, there was no attempt to win anything from the top.

I was fortunate that that crap ended the year I graduated high school or I could have been one of them. 1A on my draft card and waiting to die.

Things are vastly different now, as they should be, but what happened to cause the change in this? It’s not to be offensive and I appreciate everyone who defends our country, but the Vietnam veterans deserve a hell of alot of respect in my eyes because they were doing what this country called upon them to do just like the rest, they were just put in a losing situation for money and greed.

My thanks to those who defend our country, a strong defense keeps us free.
