He wouldn't have needed to play in that game regardless. Burden wasn't even the biggest focal point of the offense most of the season yet people are still getting high out of their minds on that "wait til Burden leaves" copium. Hate to break it to you, but Marquis Johnson will be a more than suitable replacement at WR1 after this coming season and there is a wealth of talent at the position waiting in the wings to go with him.

Oh, you betcha, no problem replacing him at all.

We brought in 2 former 5 stars when Burks left and several years later we still couldn’t replace his impact. Players like Burden don’t grow on trees, you don’t just plug in another one.

But losing that kicker is going to be huge.

We won't know that until the season kicks off. We've got a talented kid to replace him, but we'll see what he's made of when the lights come on.

We have already found his replacement and saw what he can do as a true freshman. He doesn't even have to be Burden as the overall talent around him is going to be better now that Drink has dug the talent mire out of the crater that Barry left.

Good thing the #1 kicker of the '22 class with his monster leg was sitting behind Mevis learning from him last season.
