The kid hired a complete POS gangster from California to negotiate the bidding process. Maybe this is common for highly ranked portal recruits, but word is this was an especially gross process all the way around. OU perfect fit.
Not that bummed about this one- he wasn’t exactly lighting the word on fire this past season and we have some depth already in place at tackle. Hes also less than six feet tall.
No sour grapes.

This guy is getting half the money too. The very thing NIL was supposed to get rid of

Crazy. I guess every sports site that shows him being 6"2 is just wrong huh?

Yep, these kids that chase the money and are purely motivated by the highest NIL bids are not players I would want in our program. Been there.
That's the biggest challenge for any program today. Sifting through all the crap to land players who truly want to be developed, understand that nothing is given to your in life and ideally they recognize the opportunities provided to them as student athletes.
Unfortunately, these kids are harder and harder to find. Up to the recruiting staffs to try to weed through it all.
What happened with Damonic is a perfectly example. I would bet that he leaves OU for the highest bidder after this season unless OU was able to do a 2-year deal committment.
Either way, congrats OU. A very nice pickup for a position of great need. Kudos.

An entire post of sour grapes claiming no sour grapes at the end.
