LSU - 1969 Ole Miss

Win that one they're undefeated and go to Sugar Bowl more than likely to play Arkansas or even go to Cotton Bowl to play Texas.

That was a great game. Showed the will of Archie. We were in fact still invited to play #1 Texas in the Cotton, but the Cotton Bowl committee mysteriously reneged on 9-1 5th ranked LSU and unceremoniously said 'no, never mind, you're 9-1, but we want 12th ranked 7-3 Notre Dame.' The LSU players then turned down an Astro-Bluebonnet invite. Meanwhile, Ole Miss and Archie then humbled Arkansas in the Jan. 1, 1970 Sugar - 27-22. The same Arkansas that lost 15-14 to #1 Texas a month earlier.
