Offseason, Portal, NIL, playoffs…

We all acknowledge that the current system is broken and will be the demise of college football as we know it.

Whew here we go probably going to be a long post. I’m a capitalist that believes people should be paid what they are worth. With all that said let’s get into it.

College football will be moving to a collective bargaining agreement at some point with a possible players union. However there needs to be guidelines.

NIL
It’s here to stay. No changing that but I will still argue that even with pay for play there still needs to be some reminder that we are talking what is supposed to be amateurs and should not be paid totally like professionals. If so then try your hand at the NFL and anyone other league that may pop up. With that said here’s a list of things that should be implemented. Salary cap for team, salary cap for players.

1st year players - min 10k max 100k
2nd year players - min 15k max 150k
3rd year players - min 20k max 250k
4th year players - min 25k max 400k
5th year players - min 25k max 500k

How that works out for a salary cap per team can be determined by the commissioners and be across all conferences.

Portal
I wouldn’t apply any restrictions to transfers but the caveat is if you leave your next school you return to a 1st year player and money you make is locked by the parameters above. I’m sure that will cut down on transfers. Also if the coach is fired tough it out or decide to jump in the portal. So better choose wisely out of high school on where you want to be.

Playoffs
There are to many FBS teams that number needs to be cut to 80. 16 team playoff but have a structured way of deciding who makes the playoffs not some dumbass committee or poll. If you do this you are in if you don’t you aren’t in.

Fixes a lot of issues.

I know the arguments of you can’t limit someone’s ability to make money. We are still talking amateurs like I said if they want to be professionals go be professionals see how that works out. Imagine the top 1 percent of high school players, heck say the top 100 players in high school not one could make an NFL roster and most would get destroyed by any other professional league player straight out of high school so is it really limiting someone’s ability to make money? I say absolutely not. Everyone gets a piece of the pie.
