Brent Musberger-I remember him mostly for his studio days with CBS covering the NFL with Irv, Phyllis and the Greek but he did a nice job covering college football later.
There has never been anyone close to these 3 calling college football.

In the NFL there will never another Pat Summerall, Curt Gowdy or Dick Enberg.

There was only one college game on TV a weekend, followed by Hee Haw (i hated the intro of Hee Haw b/c it was gonna be another week to wait)

I was reading an article on Brent the other day and how much things have changed since the NFL Today.

He was talking about the SB being in Vegas and the NFL contracts with online betting sites.

He said Pete Rozelle didn't want Jimmy giving the spreads on the NFL Today so they had to talk in code. Jimmy would predict the actual score of each game and talk about how "most think the Rams will beat the Falcons by a TD, but I think it's gonna be closer".

And he said he opened the broadcast saying "You're looking live" at all of the stadiums so bettors would know what the weather was like an hour before kickoff.
