I don’t understand Bama pursuing such a mediocre safety like Ed Woods from Arizona State. I guess CKD sees something but to the casual observer, pursuing this guy is a head scratcher when there are more talented DBs out there.

Woods plays in a 4-2-5. Was highly rated by PFF in 2023. DeBoer is familiar with him in the Pac 12. And Alabama needs guys at corner. Badly.

Do you know he's mediocre, have you watched many ASU games? Just assuming the guy is bad because he plays for a West Coast team that doesn't get much TV attention isn't probably a great way to evaluate. Especially considering current coaching staff has had to look at film on the guy for the past couple seasons and had a couple live looks at him. You'd think that they know what they are evaluating.

He plays in a similar system that our D will be running and has been a 2-3 year starter now. He also probably wants to move up from the late round draft projection by playing the SEC, so he'll be very motivated.
