Actually I think I read it’s being replaced too, in accordance with whatever Tony prefers.
It was 100% natural in 2017. We went to turf after he showed up. The current may be replaced, but I still think we still with turf. More schools are going to all turf baseball field across America and even at the high school level. Turf is around $700k+, plus around $5K a year to Maintance it. Natural looks great, but it requires more time, and money to maintain it. We have played multiple games this year where if we didn’t have turf, they would have been rained out, or the tarp would have come out and game paused. Turf is convenient in areas that it rains a lot, and in mountainous areas. Baseball program can save money if they don’t have to hire an entire field crew. If it is replaced,
I would like to see a different design/color, and not the dirt area be as dark as it is. I attended the Southern Miss Supers last year, and I liked their color scheme and design of their all turf field.

Tennessee field is very similar to a lot of college fields in the SEC.
Picking a choosing a few of the smaller dimensions in a ballpark then comparing the smallest to UT’s doesn’t make it the same as other college fields. It is probably in the bottom 5% in shortest dims. You don’t need to be embarrassed by it. It is what it helps. Inflates some of the offensive #s but hurt the pitching #s.
