It’s a self-righteous thing built into many of them. Especially the non-college degree contingent.

None of us can do anything about the asshats online....hell you don't even know if they are real or alters. Same about Aggie fans. Online they are awful but I went a LOT of games in College Station when we played every year and I can count the number of truly bad fans on one hand.
Go to Ohio State if you want to experience truly awful fans.
