You know.. through all of this. Isn't this in itself just a little bit racist towards white southerners?
Turner Gill told him he was concerned about taking the job at Auburn because he's an African American and his wife is white.
Fact is, Chizik got it over 3 more qualified whites too. Racism didn't play into this, stupidity did.

No more so than Bama. Croom should have got that job over Shula hands down. Gill will be better off in long run staying away from Auburn and that fiasco!

Here's why I think Cheezdik was hired:
The Barn wanted a high profile coach and were willing to spend alot of money for him. ( The number of cows they had to milk to raise these funds is simply mind boggling) Unfortunately there were no big shots looking for a job and the only decent candidates didn't want to have anything to do with the hijinks down on the farm. So Auburn hired Cheezit to fill the spot and be their patsy until a good coach came along. They realize that Chizik is not going to lead them to any substantial victories, so they will have no problems shite canning him later. They did not hire Gill because they were afraid that he might do well enough to raise a HUGE stink when he was fired when the big name coach came along. Then they would be stuck with mediocre coach that they couldn't throw under the bus without major consequences.

Chizik is not a racist. He clearly stated in his presser: " I am not a racist! Racism is a crime and crime is for minorities"

I'm not saying that there isn't racism at every SEC school, and probably every school for that matter, but it is definitely more prevalent at the barn than any campus I've ever been too.
