Moved to NW Alabama about 5 years and couldn't be happier about it. The only thing I miss (besides friends & family) is the Hill Country and they're doing their best to ruin that too.

I did the opposite - you living in the Shoals area?

I live far NW in the Austin MSA, do my best to cross 620 as few times as possible each week. Aside from an occasional run to Terry Black's downtown, maybe once every two months, I don't go there at all any more. It's sad to see it go the way it has gone the last 20 years. I could see the seeds of it as early as 1991-93 on the UT campus.
