I have always had a begrudging respect for Southern Miss. It seems they usually punch above their weight. They are a very solid baseball program, making the NCAA tourney each of the last seven and winning their regional the last two years. Throwing out the shortened 2020 season, they have 40 or more wins each of the last seven seasons. There is no shame in losing a baseball game to Southern Miss.
