why? Ole Miss outbid you for Kiffin, what makes you think you could take Beard from them?

I don't know if it's true, but rumor has it our NIL money isn't competitive and it would complicate hiring any coach with opportunities.

Because Arkansas basketball is the best job in the SEC behind Kentucky. Ole Miss is one of the worst in the Power conferences. You really think Beard would rather coach at Ole Miss over 20,000 fans at Bud Walton and a much better job at Arkansas?

However, as I said, it would take big money and Arkansas is too cheap.

I’ve heard our basketball NIL is pretty competitive nationally unlike compared to football.

Muss sealed his fate. He's gone.

However they'll let him finish the season.

Muss will get at the very least one more year.

Member when it'd be stupid to fire Mike Anderson because we wouldn't be able to attract anyone better? Then we did?

Member when lil ole Arkysaw was too broke to pay for a basketball coach even though they were already in the top 3% for basketball coaching salaries in the nation?

God it's so sad. Such an emotionally battered group of people.

I’m a man, I’m not 40, but I’m a man and I’m not pathetic. I’d hire Beard in a second if it was up to me. We’re just saying Yurachek and the money people are too cheap to pull it off.

Beard's buyout is 10 million. Sam is on every hot seat list. No way the money people would make a serious run at Beard.

That makes no sense to me. They aren't going to let a coach like Muss walk then go budget hire in the one sport they actually think they can win in. Idk why people act like Muss gets paid peanuts.

Saw a story that 2 of the players are in a relationship and broke up and there is extreme conflict going on inside that locker room. I am not flaming the board, I saw it about 2 weeks ago from a text a friend sent me. I do not still have the link I apologize

This school year football and men's basketball have lost around 80% of their conference games. What fanbase that cares wouldn't feel beaten down?

Let's not pretend it's just this year. This exact same "we can't afford anyone better" conversation was happening for years while people twiddled their thumbs over Anderson. For whatever reason this fanbase always thinks the only direction to go is down when change needs to happen, even with evidence to the contrary.

It's not that we can't afford better as much as it's we won't spend the money to get better.

It's kind of funny to see how quickly the narrative has changed on Muss. I was certain the fan base wanted to give him a lifetime contract after recent runs in the tourney

Most of the fanbase is willing to give Muss a mulligan for this year, myself included, but next year could be very different.
