I can only speak for myself, but as an avid gamer back in the day..(still am when I have time, so not often) if I were a CFB player it would be an honor to have my name, number and stats (arbitrary or otherwise) forever immortalized in a game. Maybe I'm still looking at it through the lens of a pre-NIL world where CFB is still pretending to be an amateur sport, but money comes and goes wether it's $600, $6k or much more than that..but I'd always have copies of the game to pull out for my kids or grandkids...show them grandpa was a badass!

Of course with pro players it's different, but they also aren't getting free room and board and a small stipend for other needs from their university...and also most have kids and family to take care of so getting money for their likeness in a game is essential.

Fairly positive all the schools have already signed up and it's up to each individual play whether or not they opt in. There's not a single person out there that won't buy the game if "Player X" isn't in the game. Might as well take the $600 and the free game.
