I was just thinking about his legacy recently and when he planned to hang it up. too bad he’s retiring after a season the tennis program sucks.

Yeah last year was the year he should have done it but I think he expected this year’s team to be good with bug incoming talent. But the talent was too good as they decided to go pro instead of coming to UGA (Alex Michelsen now in the top 100 in the world) which left the Dawgs a bit bare this year.

Michelsen leaving was a huge blow and then Ethan Quinn making the ill-informed decision to go pro was another blow.
No idea who got in Quinn's ear and told him it was the right decision, he needed another year or two at Georgia to refine his game. In the realm of pro tennis, he's a very limited player currently.

I totally agree. Quinn was great his freshman year at UGA but not completely dominant. Another year of the crowd behind him and being on a team would have been better than losing in early rounds of obscure pro events.
There was also Peruvian Ignacio Buse who was committed but decided to go pro. He has big talent to as he beat world top 20 Nico Jarry in Davis cup.
That would have been a salty top 3.
