Neither team was great when they won the natty. They just got hot at the right time.

State had some great talent and leadership on that roster. We haven't had anything close to that since.

We had top 5 talent and were ranked number 1 in the nation that year. We just completely shite the bed for about a month and a half then finally put it all back together at the right time.

To answer OP, we lost all of our leadership and I honestly think Bianco is mailing it in. He wants to retire and knows this is his last season. We’ll go get McDonnell from Louisville

Baseball ignorant.

At the time, State was the 7th national seed, was the only school in the country that had been to the last 3 CWS, and was the only school in the country that had been to the last 5 Super Regionals.

In the CWS, State beat the #2 seed twice and the #4 seed 13-2 and 9-0 to win the championship.

True for Ole Miss. they barely made a regional that season

State was a national seed when we won ours and had been to Omaha 3 straight years (excluding 2020 which had no season)

A Vol fan would certainly know what it takes to win the CWS.
