What I read from Eli was that UA didn't ask him back, he did not retire.

I'm no fan of the guy, but this is a weird move by bama.

Due to Eli's health, he was only able to work home games last year, he couldn't travel.

Don't get me wrong, I grew up with Eli behind the mic announcing and I appreciate everything he brought to Alabama, but he's getting long in the tooth. Chris Stewart does a fine job IMO.

I have said for years that Eli Gold sounds like he’s trying to entice 8 year olds into a van for some special candy, and he sounds like the kinda guy who would get excited for making “a warm poopoo” in his pants….

With that said, kinda shitty for the apparent way Alabama is handling this. I mean, let the guy call home games and host the coaches show for another year. He’s given 35 years to that program.
