Exactly, I’ll never understand why folks stay way past their prime and then have an awkward exit. Plus, his comments make the university seem like the bad guy.

As a supporter and lover of all things Alabama, I think it's a tacky move. Eli is the voice of Alabama football! Shame on all of you and the horse you rode in on for being happy about this announcement. Let me just say that if you're fortunate to live long enough, you will get old, too. I hope you don't lose your job because of it.

Uh - Spoiler: the University IS the bad guy.
And It’s a effing RADIO CALL! It’s not open heart surgery or being President. So what if he’s Not the world’s sharpest anymore?

And When’s the last time ANY of us seriously had to rely ONLY on the radio call with no video??? Unless you are a cheapskate, it was probably 2007.

The man is an icon. He could have gotten one healthy year.

But our fans today are just frontrunners. We are a fan base of “Rickey Bobby’s “ in Crimson. :-(
