improving downtown Tuscaloosa

I guess I am becoming the "old timer" that tells the kids they don't know how good they have it, but downtown has improved exponentially since I was a student from 1997-2002.

4th and 23rd, DePalma's, Innisfree, Catch 22 and Subs N You were about it for downtown at the turn of the century. No hotels, limited restaurants, and few bars. Now it appears to be thriving when I visit.

I'm sure improvements can still be made but let's not disregard the progress that has already happened.

When I come down for the games I park downtown and walk to the stadium. The city could really use some better lighting along the way. I am surprised more people don't take advantage of the downtown scene to be honest. For day games it's almost like a ghost town in the restaurants/bars. Maybe it's just the time I get there or something
