They do this for 1-2 non-conference games for every team. Every SEC football team has to play one game on ESPN+ as well

gotcha - part of the new tv deal I suspect - I now remember the uproar when Carolina's football game v Furman last season was on ESPN+ ... ESPN forcing SEC fans to pay beyond cable/satellite/tv streaming -
